Shenandoah River book

Denizen Media is currently in production of a photographic book of the Shenandoah River. This will be a visual testimony of the river's beauty—a condition that could dissolve over time unless we actively engage in acts to restore, preserve and protect it.

Currently in crisis with a series of unexplained fish kills in recent years, and still in recovery from industrial pollution from the the middle of the last century, our river is endangered. However, it remains a visually stunning river despite its struggles, and is a beloved subject of music and folklore.

We are following this important waterway for 253 miles, exploring the North and South Forks of the river to their confluence near Front Royal, Virginia, and continuing along the main stem of the river until it flows into the Potomac River at Harpers Ferry, West Virginia. This monograph is intended to instill pride and inspire stewardship of the Shenandoah.

To support these efforts, we invite you to contribute information, donate online, or contact us about underwriting sponsorship.
